Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Calon Y Cymoedd is a Primary school situated in Betws, Bridgend South Wales. We provide bilingual education for Cwm Garw and Cwm Ogwr and the surrounding area.
Our school moto at Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Calon Y Cymoedd is that everyone matters and everyone achieves. We offer a happy and caring environment where your child can feel safe and secure. The education we provide is carefully matched to the learning needs of individual children, pupil voice is of great importance to us. Our aim is to provide a warm, welcoming and happy environment where pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential and develop into responsible citizens and life long learners.

We are currently developing our outdoor learning spaces and would be very grateful for any donations of items such as pots, pans, large measuring jugs, large cooking utensils, large storage jars, tubes, pipes, cable reels, crates, pallets, stones, sand or similar loose parts.
These materials will help us create exciting opportunities for the children to explore, build, experiment, and develop their imagination outdoors.
If you have any spare items at home that you no longer need, we would love to give them a new life in our outdoor area!

Rydym ar hyn o bryd yn datblygu ein hardaloedd dysgu awyr agored a byddwn yn ddiolchgar iawn i dderbyn unrhyw roddion o eitemau fel potiau, sosbenni, jygiau mesur, offer coginio mawr, jarrau storio mawr, tiwbiau, pibellau, rîls cebl, cretiau, paledi, cerrig, tywod neu rannau rhydd tebyg.
Bydd y deunyddiau hyn yn ein helpu i greu cyfleoedd cyffrous i’r plant archwilio, adeiladu, arbrofi a datblygu eu dychymyg yn yr awyr agored.
Os oes gennych unrhyw eitemau sbâr gartref nad ydych eu hangen mwyach, byddem wrth ein bodd yn rhoi bywyd newydd iddynt yn ein hardal awyr agored!

Year 5 and 6 have been celebrating STEAM week with a Lego robot workshop and a variety of activities including working as a team to make a tower using spaghetti and marshmallows! 3 Likes
Mae SSCE Cymru yn esbonio bod Digwyddiadau Addewid Disgyblion yn dod ag ysgolion a phlant y Lluoedd Arfog ynghyd i gytuno ar y gefnogaeth a gânt. Nod y digwyddiadau yw rhoi llais i’r plant, tynnu sylw at yr heriau y gallant eu hwynebu, a dathlu’r cryfderau y maent yn eu dod i fywyd ysgol. Mae pob digwyddiad yn arwain at “Addewid Disgyblion” lleol i sicrhau bod plant y Lluoedd Arfog yn cael eu cydnabod, eu cefnogi a’u cynnwys.
Roedden ni’n falch iawn o gymryd rhan ac o weld ein disgyblion yn cysylltu â phlant y Lluoedd Arfog eraill wrth i ni wneud yr addewid hwn gyda’n gilydd.
Last week, we attended the Bridgend Pupil Promise Event with two of our Service Children, alongside other schools, BCBC staff, SSCE Cymru and the Mayor of Bridgend. It was a fantastic experience for everyone.
SSCE Cymru explain that Pupil Promise events bring schools and Service children together to agree how they will be supported. The aim is to give Service children a voice, highlight the unique challenges they may face, and celebrate the strengths they bring to school life. Each event ends with a shared “Pupil Promise” to ensure Service children feel recognised, supported and included.
We were delighted to take part and to see our pupils connect with other Service children in Bridgend as we made this shared commitment together. 7 Likes
We’re looking forward to our Community Day on Saturday 16th May, and we need your support! Parents, carers, families, and community members are warmly invited to join us in helping with activities around the school. Whether you can offer an hour or the whole morning, your help makes a huge difference.
